Confucius Symbol: water, stillnes, dignity, and harmony

Confucianism

A system of philosophical and ethical teachings founded by Confucius and developed by Menicius. It brought people love, harmony, and respect for one another as well as introducing them to a new way of thinking.

Taoism

A Chinese philosophy based on the writings of Lao-tzu that advocates humility and religious piety. The biggest area of Taoism influence was in science but also on literature and the arts.

Yin and Yang Symbol: balance in opposing forces 

Torii Symbol: marks the transition from the mundane to the sacred

Shintoism

The indigenous religion of Japan consisting chiefly in the cultic devotion to deities of natural forces. Shinto holds that nature has a sense of power and presence that is inescapable and beyond human control or understanding, but sensible in our encounters with it.
