“The world today has shut its eyes to reality, as the world experienced tragedy. Covid-19 pandemic did not just open up the nation’s identity but also our religious identity. As we open our eyes to our beliefs, we see hope that we want to achieve. As people today seek hope for their own religious beliefs, we also seek to respect our true identity. Respecting each other’s religious beliefs would cause the harmonious livelihood that we want to achieve. There will be no discrimination as to why do atheists do not believe in God? Why don’t we change our religion to something that is trending? We would not have these questions because truly in our heart we are all one and praising one.”

“What I’ve learned in this subject is to respect each other’s religion as we respect our own. Different types of religions were discussed throughout our 1st semester and all of these religions have an interesting and favorable story. Most of these religions are discriminated against until modern times, as we discussed these religions in this subject we learned that not all of its people or followers have bad intentions. Mostly Muslims are discriminated on how they eat, worship, and how they clothe, sometimes they’re having false accusation because of their religion’s background of terrorism. But it is wrong to name a person terrorist just because he is from a certain country or religion, we should learn that most of these people only wants peace and acceptance. We should always be kind and respectful to each other.”

“The journey through this subject has been fulfilling; like having to find something without knowing it was even missing. Given the fact that we were given the privilege to be the only strand to have this subject has made it somewhat the center of my attention. As an agnostic, I have always been fascinated by the many religions derived from different generations which is probably why this subject continued to pique my interest throughout the months of learning. Not to pick favorites but, I mostly enjoyed studying about Confucianism. Maybe because Confucius was a philosopher, his teachings made a big impression on me. I was most fond of its notion that people might be flawed but they are not generally evil and that they live according to society’s expectations and will only be moral if there’s a credible threat of punishment. It’s hard to miss because of its honesty. Besides that, I couldn’t help but appreciate our instructor as she continued to guide us and exerted effort to provide us with audio recordings for every lesson until the end of the semester.”

“This semester, I have thoroughly learned that the way people believe in certain deities around the globe depends on their surroundings and day to day lives. I have gain better understanding of what I already know and made me more interested to dig deeper. A certain majority of said religions have been based off of legends, routines, and sometimes even folklores. But, this should not be a reason for us to disrespect other religions even when they aren’t the same as ours. Discrimination around the globe is sadly abundant, let us not increase this growing negativity and start the change within ourselves, by simply respecting each and one another, despite of skin, beliefs, and heritage.”
